The new chat room

The new Chat feature allows you to participate in a live, real-time network-wide chatroom as well as private chats with other members of the network. You can find the new Chat feature at the bottom of your screen, in the new Chat bar. Clicking the button to the left of the little man will pop the Chat out of the Chat bar and allow you to start chatting. The Chat bar is on every page and so you don't have to worry about it closing, if you navigate away from any page. If you don't want to appear online, you don't have to! Click the little man on the right of the Chat bar to appear offline. Green means that you are online. Red means that you are signed out of Chat and are appearing to be offline. When you sign in to a network with the Chat feature on it, you will automatically appear as "online" in the chat room although you may not be in the chat room at the time. In the right column, a list of members currently in the chat room appears. If you send a message out but get no response then they may not be in the room. Clicking on their profile photo pops up a dialogue that allows you to view their profile on the network and ask them to join you in the chat room, or initiate a private chat with them. When the member accepts, the two of you will be placed in your own separate chat room. You can definitely decline a private Chat request! You can navigate back to the main chat room at any time by clicking the Main tab.
